Outback Eye Service Following on from the Fred Hollows Foundation in the 1970’s the Outback Eye Service travel to remote and rural areas to treat patients with eye disease, both indigenous and non-indigenous. The Outback Eye Service works out the department of Ophthalmology at the Prince of Wales Hospital Sydney. Doctors and nurses from the Eye Service travel to Bourke Hospital almost monthly. Working with the local stuff the Outback Eye Service performs countless surgeries and hold clinics. These images are from the Outback Eye Service March 2007 visit to Bourke Hospital, where over 2 days they treated patients from Lightning Ridge, Walgett, Brewarrina and Bourke.
